Unchartered Waters explores the unexpected places where nature finds its way, challenging our assumptions about the familiar and the wild.

Often imagined as birds of the coast, pelicans also inhabit inland waterways, travelling far from the shoreline into remote country where kookaburra are more commonly found.The elevated perspective invites us to look beyond what we know, to consider the meeting of seemingly disparate worlds. The windmill stands as a weathered landmark connecting the natural environment with traces of human presence. 

 A restrained palette of burnt orange ochre and gunmetal grey creates a landscape of stark contrasts. The warmth of the earth meets the weight of the brooding sky, evoling a sense of stillness and resilience. The title speaks to both the literal journey of these birds beyond our expectations and the broader idea of venturing into the unfamiliar.
