Australian artist Michelle Nixon has spent more than 20 years immersed in the creative world, as a practicing artist, a property stager and as a gallery coordinator at a local not-for-profit gallery. Over the years, she has listened closely to her peers - and what she heard was often disheartening. Many artists shared their frustrations about existing sales strategies and online art platforms: high commissions, hidden fees, confusing algorithms, negative-trending analytics, delayed payments, and limited opportunities for those working in less “fashionable” artistic mediums.
