The Old Coastal Road

The Old Coastal Road, by Alanah Jarvis
There’s something wonderfully nostalgic about an old coastal road, where weathered timber fences, windswept landscapes and salty sea air tell stories of summers gone by.

Rich earthy browns, soft blush pinks and creamy light come together in this richly textured abstract painting. Layers of expressive marks and worn surfaces evoke the character of aged timber, changing coastal skies and the beautiful imperfections left behind by time and the elements.

The Old Coastal Road captures that carefree feeling of taking the scenic route, windows down, with nowhere in particular to be. A gentle reminder that some of life's happiest moments are found along the way.

With its earthy palette and subtle coastal influence, this 61 x 91 cm original artwork brings warmth, character and a relaxed sense of nostalgia to any space.

For a more refined presentation, this piece pairs beautifully with the gallery’s Priority Framing option. A considered frame adds structure to the raw, weathered texture of the work, giving it a finished presence while still allowing the natural movement and depth of the painting to remain the focus. It’s a simple way to elevate the piece, making it feel at home in both modern and rustic spaces.
