The Messengers

The Messengers explores the ways in which guidance and hope arrive in our lives. Three vivid red birds emerge against a wide, cloud filled sky, one pausing in a deep blue vessel, while the others take flight across the open landscape. Whether they are symbols of intuition , change or the unexpected, is left to the viewer's imagination. The richly coloured vessel, bearing a small glowing image is a repeated symbol in my work suggesting something precious is held within. Painted in oil with expressive brushwork and layered colour, this work invites contemplation. It's a painting about paying attention to the subtle signs that appear when we are ready to receive them. Full of warmth and quiet symbolism, The Messengers offers a sense of possibility and reminds us that meaning is often found in the moments we may overlook.
