Shelter From A Storm

Shelter From A Storm is about how we can offer refuge to another person when life becomes overwhelming. This is symbolised by images of prayer, music, tea and cake, angels, umbrellas, a dog (there's always a dog!), and a figure with outstretched arms, and a peace symbol on her palm. Her heart has been broken but light shines through it. She offers presence, compassion and a safe space. 

The vibrant colours and layered forms create a sense of energy and movement. There is no need to fix what is happening (and often we can't). Sometimes the greatest gift we can offer is to simply be there. 
We can hold space for their fear, grief or uncertainty until they are strong enough to move forward again. Ultimately, it's a painting about compassions, connection, and quiet strength.

The edges are painted white on top and bottom, and the colour wraps around on the left side (blue) and the right side (pink)  Its ready to hang. 

If you are overseas, please discuss for shipping - the painting can be taken off the stretcher bars and sent rolled in a tube (way cheaper!).
