Painting in the abstract is a powerful way of expressing ideas and perspectives in a way which gives me the opportunity to create a subliminal narrative in my the work. Inspiration of much of my artwork begins with an emotional reaction to the personal, environmental and world events.
The colours and the marks I make are instinctive, spontaneous and as I work I begin to see a story emerge depicted by the shapes, line and colour. This work is a reaction subjective and objective response to the upheaval we are experiencing in our societies today in the form of colour, shapes and movement, about new direction, conflict and the roads we choose that lead us often to an unexpected place.
