Springlight on the Greenway

This plein air painting was inspired by a recent spring weekend spent in Sydney’s Inner West GreenWay parklands. Painted on location, it captures the fleeting interplay of warm afternoon sunlight, drifting clouds, and the quiet rhythm of people enjoying nature. The towering eucalyptus stands as a familiar guardian of the Australian landscape, while expressive brushstrokes and rich layers of colour convey the vitality and movement of the moment. Rather than recording every detail, I sought to express the atmosphere, light, and emotional connection between people and place, celebrating the beauty that can be found in the everyday landscapes of our local community.
