Summer Solstice was inspired by that time of the year when light, heat and growth is at its fullest, when the earth shimmers in aglow with colour and movement. Through building layers I created an abstracted landscape of rolling fields and distant horizons highlighted with hazy skies, repeated marks and patterns that move like grasses in a warm breeze and delicate fleeting seeds scattered across the land. I chose soft greens, blush pinks, turquoise and warm peach tones for the colour palette to capture the feeling of abundance and intensity of the Australian Summer.
This artwork consists of professional quality cotton canvas that is varnished for protection, the sides are painted in a soft blush colour, signature is on the front and back and a certificate of authenticity is included.
