Summer Joy

Summer Joy is an exploration of the exuberance I feel in the presence of nature’s vitality — its colours, its rhythms, its capacity to uplift. Although abstract, the work draws from my experiences of walking through lush Australian gardens and bushland during the height of summer, when everything seems to hum with life.

Working intuitively, I allowed the forms to emerge like memories of blossoms rather than literal depictions. The bright blue ground became a space of openness and light, a kind of emotional sky against which colours could breathe and interact. As with much of my recent work, I’m interested in how colour and gesture can evoke the sense of joy, warmth, and renewal that nature brings, inviting viewers into a moment of sensory pleasure and quiet optimism.
