This is one of a series of paintings in which I have used beach lines and shapes - around the beach rocks and lines in the sand - to develop ideas for abstraction. The colours do not necessarily come from the coast, but many close up photos of areas along our local beach were used to find snippets that could be expanded or cropped, rotated or combined, to create landscape-like images. The painting is mostly acrylic paint, also with collage, pastels and pencil.Â
The painting is ready to hang. It is unframed with sides painted white, although a frame could be added.
