I love these cute native perennial flowers which come in a range of colours from white to pink to purple to blue. They flower just before the really hot Aussie summers.
Mostly I love them because they attract lots of little insects, especially the tiny white flower spiders. They always see me coming and hide behind the petals and freeze, pretending to be part of the flower. Can you spot him in the painting?
Pink Isotoma or Woodbridge poison or Isotoma hypocrateriformis is native to Western Australia. This painting is a square 30cm by 30cm and was painted as part of a series.
