Netherby Farm Fagan Park, part of Glenorie’s rich history. After visiting the park I had to paint this stunning old structure as it reminded me of old barns I used to see around my home town. It’s a bit of nostalgia and I hope it gives you a sense of age, local history and the lifestyle of those who worked hard on the land.
A little of its history- Fagan Park takes its name from the family who farmed this land for generations. The Fagans purchased the property in the 1850s and worked it first as a citrus orchard before shifting to cattle grazing in later decades. In 1980, siblings Bruce and Ida Fagan donated the property to the people of New South Wales, and it eventually became the park we all enjoy today. Was opened to the public in November 1988.
Painted on a linen canvas
