I love the way the light is shining on the reeds and water and the little coot, with it's black feathers and distinctive white front plate, had helpfully built a nest amongst the reeds to create an interesting focal point for this large painting. It's a favourite spot of mine on the Huon River near Franklin where lot's of waterbirds like to congregate.
