Mirage In Red Green and Blue

This painting from my Mirage series captures the vast, shifting beauty of the Australian landscape through layered drips of paint and luminous bands of colour. Horizontal passages of deep blue, fiery red-orange, and vibrant green stretch across the canvas, creating the illusion of a distant horizon blurred by heat and light.

Built through countless fine drips and fluid lines, the surface shimmers with movement, evoking the wavering effect of a mirage rising from sun-soaked land. Speckles and splatters of paint add texture and energy, enhancing the sense of atmosphere and vast open space.

The dramatic contrast between cool blues and intense warm earth tones reflects the extremes of the Australian environment—expansive skies, scorched earth, and flashes of vivid life.
