“I grew up in country Australia and the colours of the earth and bush are something that have stayed with me my whole life and something I wanted to share in my art.”
In this series “Timeless” Teresa selected beautiful Australian locations, animals and flora and let them transcend through the artwork. In this painting the Bay of Fires in Tasmania was portrayed within Mother Gaia, the lines of the rocks, the orange of the rocks and the blue of the ocean. She is ripping through time, looking at the clock (our version of time) and a fossil trying to break through the fabric of life. She reminds you that time is not just one concept and to be free of time you have to break through it.
The painting took many days and hours, each brushstroke and mark making made deliberately to give such a beautiful finish. This painting would hang beautifully on any wall. The colours are striking very much suited to the surrealist genre Teresa likes to explore.
