Home at last

We have many gum trees lining the fairways at my golf club and the cockatoos love exploring the hollows in them and finding suitable places to nest. The textures and colours on the trees are amazing and added extra inspiration to paint this scene.

This sulphur crested cockatoo has claimed the hollow in a gum tree near the 13th hole and is loudly proclaiming ownership. The colours of the bark drew me and called "paint me".

This is a giclée fine art limited edition print of my original watercolour painting. It is printed on A3 Hahnemühle Photo Cotton Rag 308gsm, which is one of the world’s most popular fine art papers.
