Gumleaves on red is a mixed media abstract monoprint on paper.
Gumleaves in shades of yellow, green and white layer over a red mottled background which evokes the forest floor. Silver outlines highlight the shape and texture of the leaves.
The beautiful tactile qualities of the monoprint is emphasised in this work, with variations in ink density, colour and irregular edges which reinforce the work’s balance between intention and chance.
This work is unique - a gel plate print on paper, with hand drawn pen highlights. It is presented in a square mat in white or black. It fits a 20 x 20 cm picture frame.
