As an artist, like others before me I have to push myself to try new things. I've been experimenting with Ochre's and Earth colours in the pursuit of Australian inspired Abstracts. They also provide a great way to then add bold colour that always seems to pop.
Each study is approached in the same way any artwork is created. I continue to explore shape, line and composition until I feel something from the work. To me each one tells a story.
This one reminded me of a deconstructed flower. The Good Night Kiss flower, also known as Calibrachoa 'Good Night Kiss', is a vibrant annual plant characterized by its abundant, eye-catching blooms. Warmth and layered with some texture. Up close you can explore the different techniques employed to give diversity to the piece.
