Maybe it’s the liveliness and pizzazz that reminds me of that time or maybe it’s the resonating colors and feeling it conveys. Mid-Century Modernism was a vision of the future and progress, a utopian way of living. A time where art aimed for expressiveness and a decorative effect. Geometry of the shapes were used to transmit energy and a lively and irregular surface gave a more tactile tone, playing with space and three-dimensionality. My palette is bold and bright, the colours echoing with the vitality of the 70s.
