At Coogee, just before sunrise, the Surf Life Saving Club stands against a sky heavy with the darkness of an approaching storm. The first light catches the building's pale walls, while waves break against the seawall and the beach remains largely in shadow.
I was drawn to the contrast between the solidity of the architecture and the restless movement of the sea and sky. At this early hour, the familiar coastal landmark takes on a different character: quiet, exposed and watchful, suspended between night and day.
