Fantail Goldfish

This artwork grew out of an experimental start. I wanted to play with texture before deciding on the final direction the work would take. Once I applied the impasto with numerous texture forming applications from recycled plastic diamond shaped mesh to plasitc forks and more. In my mind it was always going to be an aquatic themed artwork but once the texture was dry I saw this gorgeous showy fantail goldfish. Turquoise blue and green wash applied then the pretty peachy apricot overtones and splashes. The sea grass grew as did the fish. And finally this characterful slightly cheeky fantail goldfish came to life. Would bring joy and colour to any space.
