Teresa Franks is an award-winning artist, children’s book illustrator and mother.
"“Dreaming” is my interpretation of K’Gari – past, present and future. Mother Earth watches over the islands’ native animals, birds & plants through the ripped fabric of time – the ocean and sand within her. The background represents Girra and the dunes of K’gari, the red represents the blood spilled both, physically and emotionally for all species who inhabit the island and the blue is the ocean and life-giving water. Some of the rips show the mark of the dingo as he also dreams of living in peace in his environment, the birds fly free and the flowers dream of flourishing.
