Coffee and Donuts - two of my favourite things and I also love the glazed ceramic coffee mug and the small dish that holds the two cinnamon donuts.
Painted from life in oils on linen on board- this scene celebrates simple pleasures to be found in a warm beverage, donuts from the bakery and beautiful utensils to be used every day. The small dish is part of a glazed ceramic dinner set I treated myself to many years ago because they were so beautiful and I use them often. I feel gratitude to the artisans who made them but also for the fact that I can enjoy this and it gives me pleasure to look at them and feel the texture of these beautiful utensils. Happiness and pleasure for me are often to be found in the everyday.
