This painting is just me playing with paint and colour. It has no meaning, however it does have a story. This painting started off completely different to what you now see. The original idea, and painting was not working, and while the paint was wet on the canvas, I started moving the colours around in hope that something might come of it. Hence the title, "Clutching At Straws". Once I saw the shapes and colours starting to appear, I continued with the momentum of the work and ended up with a painting I really liked.
This work, and the works that followed do resemble aboriginal designs, however that is not my intention. I am simply painting what I feel at the time.
