I have used a restrained palette of soft pinks, violet and cool blues using layers of glazing to create a translucent depth that gives the blooms an internal glow. The dark background is a stabilizing presence - anchoring the forms and intensifying their tonal subtlety. Painted with meticulous attention to detail, "Close to You", rewards the viewer with a sense of stillness, vulnerability and peace.
