Before the Wind Awakens

Inspired by a journey through Tasmania several years ago, this painting captures a quiet morning in a secluded bay, where sailboats rest peacefully before setting out. Their shimmering reflections dance across the water, while the warm glow of the distant shoreline contrasts with the rich blues of the foreground, creating a sense of calm and timelessness. Through expressive brushwork and layered colour, I sought to convey not only the beauty of the landscape but also the emotional resonance of travel. It celebrates those fleeting moments of stillness that linger long after the journey has ended, preserved in memory and light.
