I have constructed this piece to look as though it has been shaped by natural elements over time like an ancient artifact with thermal shock marks and earthy colours. I have strived to contrast the soft curves of the human form with sharp rugged edges. The timeless motif of the female torso has been treated it in a fragmented, modern way that emphasizes raw texture and form over anatomical perfection. I rip the clay and then form the torso with the strips in my mold. It is glazed with a matte apple green glaze in a reduction firing. It has wire and hooks for walll hanging on the back.
