Dead End Freeway, Darling Harbour captures Sydney’s unfinished “ramp to nowhere” — a remnant of 1970s freeway expansion plans that were halted before completion. Built to connect to a second road deck that was never realised, the structure remains suspended and unused, a visible trace of abandoned ambition.
This work reflects on waste and the consequences of large-scale planning decisions. Concrete was poured, resources committed, and infrastructure designed for movement — yet the pathway leads nowhere. The image becomes a quiet but powerful commentary on miscalculation, shifting political priorities, and the public cost of unfinished vision.
Set within the evolving skyline of Sydney, the piece highlights how cities carry the physical memory of past decisions. Once constructed, structures remain — preserving both progress and error in equal measure.
With its architectural focus and restrained tone, Dead End Freeway is a compelling addition to contemporary interiors, particularly for collectors drawn to urban narratives, infrastructure, and social commentary.

The fine art print is individually signed on the front and produced using Giclée printing, the museum-standard process trusted by leading galleries worldwide. Archival pigment inks deliver exceptional colour depth, subtle tonal transitions, and long-lasting vibrancy.
Each print is produced in Australia on 310gsm Hahnemühle German Etching, a beautifully textured, velvety fine art paper renowned for its richness and detail. The tactile surface enhances depth and character, resulting in a refined, gallery-quality finish.
Prints are supplied unframed and carefully rolled in a protective tube for safe delivery.
