Abstract poppy flowers

This artwork was painted with a acrylic pallet on a stretched canvas 60cm x 50cm with a depth of 1.5 cm on a acrylic canvas and a protective coat of (gloss) varnish has been applied to seal the acrylic paints and ensure the work stays looking its best for a life time

The poppies  are typically rendered in fiery scarlet red ,deep crimson magenta , or brilliant orange , which appear to 'pop ' or glow against the dark background . The background is a solid deep black , often matte or moody , which eliminates  context  and forces focus  entirely on the flowers . I applied a few dark blue circles in the background to brighten it up
