I love to paint expressively, drawing on memories and photos of travels and local areas. This painting is based on a photo taken while out hiking, and has been painted in a way that highlights different textures and shapes in the landscape. The scene is abstracted and colours kept to a minimum to bring the painting together. There is scratching into the wood as well as drawing to accentuate texture and line. The painting is ready to hang, with sides painted white, or a frame could be added.
