Under the Venetian sun

This painting was born from my visit to Venice last year, when I stood high in the tower and looked down over St. Mark’s Square. From that bird’s-eye view, the square seemed alive—tourists moving like vibrant brushstrokes, their shadows stretching and melting into the patterned pavement. Below me, the energy of Venice unfolded: the two great columns rising proudly, gondolas swaying in the water, and clusters of people weaving together in rhythm with the city. I wanted to capture not just what I saw but what I felt—that sense of movement, colour, and life - all blending into the timeless stage of Venice.
