THE ROCKS

Much of my art work is inspired by the nature walks in the hills and national parks around my suburb and home town. Eucalyptus, or gum trees are the quintessential Australian tree, and one of my favourite subjects to paint. Mainly because of their beautiful pure white or multi coloured bark and the twisted shapes of their trunks. The Japanese have popularized the idea of forest bathing. A lot of studies out of Japan have shown that walking in expansive places such as a forest helps reduce depression and anxiety.
