The breath of the valley

This work is a memory of distance — not a specific place, but a feeling of land unfolding slowly under a heavy sky. The mountain sits like a quiet witness, holding its weight in deep blues, while the valley below breathes in green rhythms, almost like rows of cultivated thought. I was interested in the tension between stillness and movement: the grounded, immovable form of the mountain against the soft, shifting atmosphere and the living texture of the fields.

The palette leans into cool saturation, allowing the greens and blues to merge and dissolve into one another, as if the air itself carries colour. Brushwork remains visible and intuitive — I wanted the surface to feel worked, touched, and slightly unsettled, like a landscape remembered rather than observed.

This painting is less about geography and more about presence — the quiet moment where space expands and time slows, and the land feels both vast and intimate at once.
