Opened in December 1885, the Adelaide Arcade was considered extremely progressive at the time. The luxury of marble floors, glass-panelled ceilings, and electric lights made it a place of grandeur. The Balconette at the Grenfell Street end was designed as an orchestral gallery where bands played, and grand balls were held in the adjoining arcade. It is so unique it has its own Coat of Arms. The image is a quiet, almost reverent study of classical architecture.
The artwork is signed on the bottom left side of the frame and a certificate of authenticity is supplied.
Actual colours may vary slightly.
