Still life poppies

Still life poppies is an original watercolour painting. The ceramic work and photography of Frances Palmer was the inspiration for this work. Permission was granted from Frances Palmer. Granulating paints have been used to express the colourful texture in the vases which contrast so well with the deep blue background. The pastel soft colours of the flowers exhibit the delicate nature of the flowers in various vases, set against a deep blue background. The flowers are in warm shades of pink, orange, yellow, and white, creating a beautiful contrast with the rich indigo tones behind them. The vases are painted in soft, earthy hues with a mix of textures, giving them a natural and artistic look. The watercolor technique allows for fluid blending, especially in the background, which has a dreamy, abstract quality.
