This painting is of a coastal path leading through sand dunes down to the water's edge. My inspiration was the many coastal walks that I have undertaken along the south and west coasts of Australia. Often our beaches are sandy and devoid of rocks, but this particular beach was very rocky and probably not an ideal beach for swimming, but it still maintained a beauty that I felt was worth capturing. The surf here in Margaret River is a favourite place for surfers. The painting is framed in a white floating frame with a cord at the back, ready to hang.
