Serenity Bay is an original abstract landscape painting inspired by my walks through the bushland surrounding Sydney Harbour. Part of my ongoing Imagined Landscapes series, it explores the meeting point of nature, memory and imagination, creating a place that feels familiar yet exists beyond any specific location.
An expansive stretch of water opens beneath a softly coloured sky, with warm earthy tones along the shoreline contrasting with cool greens and delicate pinks. Layers of rich oil paint create a tactile surface, bringing softness, depth and movement to the landscape.
For me, these imagined landscapes are places of refuge, offering a moment to pause, breathe and reconnect with a sense of calm. Through intuitive mark-making and layered colour, I seek to capture not a particular view, but the feeling of being immersed in nature.
