This still life painting was painted with a acrylic pallet on a stretched canvas 50cm x 60cm with a depth of 1.50cm on a acrylic canvas and a protective coat of (gloss) varnish has been applied to seal the acrylic paints and ensure the work stays looking its best for a life time 

Proteas are woody evergreen perennials with gorgeous, unusual- looking blooms from Autumn into Spring. These hardy shrubs attract birds to the garden with their large flowers in dusty pink and red tones, plus colourful foliage. They are renowned for their striking beauty and resilience . I did them in dark and pale pink and the leaves in orange and red , followed by a dark green background which makes the proteas pop
