New Orleans is one of my favourite cities and one I've visited a number of times. It is famous for its music, food and fun. The painting is based on a night time scene I photographed near the junction of St Peter and Bourbon Street. I've tried to capture the colour and liveliness of the city and the crowd surrounding the still figure of the bemused policeman.
