Midnight Roadwork captures a moment most people never see — the city awake while the world sleeps.

Inspired by the artist’s own experience of being woken by overnight construction, the work transforms a familiar urban scene into something surreal and visually charged. Rendered in striking, inverted tones of red, orange, and electric green, the composition pulses with energy. Street elements — vehicles, buildings, and figures — appear fragmented and reassembled, creating a layered, almost dreamlike landscape.

At the centre of the work are roadworkers moving through artificial light, their high-visibility clothing glowing against the darkness. Their presence introduces a quiet tension — purposeful activity unfolding in a time usually reserved for stillness.
