Long Shadows

I hope to capture the spirit of the Australian landscape and share my experience of the natural world through my artwork. I believe that while spending time in nature, or simply looking at images of it, we become aware of our own small place in the world—bringing a little perspective into our lives.

'Long Shadows' reflects a quiet moment in the late afternoon, as sunlight filters through the trees and casts elongated shadows across a sandy path.
The flattened perspective, rhythmic tree forms, and cool, calming palette invite the viewer into a slow meditative space.
This piece draws inspiration from Japanese woodblock prints, particularly in its use of negative space, silhouetted forms, and visual stillness. It's part of a broader series exploring the  beauty of coastal forest environments in northern New South Wales.
