Inspired by the haunting elegance of Edith “Little Edie” Beale and the faded grandeur of Grey Gardens, this painting explores isolation, performance, and resilience. The figure emerges softly from layers of colour and memory, wrapped in patterned collage reminiscent of Little Edie’s improvised costumes — part armour, part self-expression.

The richly textured background echoes the decaying beauty of Grey Gardens itself: overgrown, theatrical, and alive with fragments of the past.
