This painting captures a tram leaving Glenelg as it passes the old Jetty Bar, now the Colley Hotel. I was drawn to the movement of the tram against the familiar buildings, the polites signs and the relaxed seaside atmosphere that Glenelg exudes.
Using bold colour and strong black lines, I wanted to highlight the contrast between motion and stillness, creating a vibrant snapshot of urban suburban living in Adelaide.
