The origin of ‘It’ll Be A Warm One Tomorrow’ is some leftover paint, from which I made a mono print, and then added and added until I achieved a painting. Abstract art is art that does not attempt to represent an accurate depiction of a visual reality but instead use shapes, colours, forms and gestural marks to achieve its effect. The title comes after, and was chosen from a memory of my parents saying “It’ll be a warm one tomorrow’, when the evening sky was red. Of course, seeing or creating a recognisable image means that maybe it is no longer abstract.
