In the Presence of Light

This abstract landscape explores an imagined bush where tiny pockets of light emerge and burst through the foliage. Rather than depicting a specific place, the work evokes the fleeting sensation of light filtering through nature, inviting memory and imagination to complete the scene.

The composition is built from countless small oval shapes that gather, overlap, and shift, creating a sense of movement, rhythm, and quiet drama. Together, these individual marks become a living landscape, suggesting growth, energy, and the subtle pulse of the natural world. Delicate vine-like drips weave through the painting, adding another layer of narrative and enhancing the organic flow of the composition.

This work extends my exploration of light as both a physical and emotional presence—an ongoing meditation on illumination, atmosphere, and the moments of wonder found within abstraction.
The painting subject continues around the sides so a frame is not required. This is a large statement piece for any room in the home or business where you want to add interest and energy.
