Happiness Comes in Waves

Happiness Comes in Waves, by Alanah Jarvis

There is a special kind of happiness found when you're out in the ocean, surrounded by nothing but rolling swells, open skies and the gentle rhythm of the water. Happiness Comes in Waves captures that beautiful feeling of being completely immersed in the sea, where the shoreline disappears and the world feels wonderfully far away.

Painted from a perspective within the water, this original oil painting invites you to experience the ocean as though you are floating among its gentle, rising swells. Layers of luminous turquoise, soft aqua and deep ocean blues flow across the canvas, catching the sunlight as each wave rolls gracefully into the next. The distant horizon and soft, open sky bring a sense of endless possibility, freedom and calm.

For a more refined presentation, this piece pairs beautifully with the gallery’s Priority Framing option. A considered frame adds structure to the raw, weathered texture of the work, giving it a finished presence while still allowing the natural movement and depth of the painting to remain the focus. It’s a simple way to elevate the piece, making it feel at home in both modern and rustic spaces.

This canvas is placed on Sustainable Canvas, made from 100% recycled plastic bottles to keep this plastic out of the environment or landfill. The canvas resists mould & won't sag on stretcher bars over time as it doesn’t expand and contract like other fibre canvases. Its ready to be passed down for generations.
