Coastal Discoveries - Shell Seekers, Sellicks Beach.

Growing up just a few minutes walk to the beach, I love all things 'beach' and living in Adelaide, we have a wonderful coastline with beaches of all kinds, from seafront homes to those towns and along the hilly areas on the southern coast, where new discoveries can be found. Sellicks Beach was always a favourite 'Sunday Drive' place for me. And I took quite a few photos from there, and I finally decided to paint one of them, late 2024, but only listed it for a very short time, and I've never exhibited it. 

I'm glad that I did this painting, but it wasn't an easy one to do. The details meant that this painting took far longer than I had anticipated. It's acrylic paints, and the frame is extended onto the 2 longest sides, the top and bottom 'sides' are painted black (because extending the beach sand underneath the painting, or extending the sky & clouds, on the top of the painting, just seemed too 'odd' to do).
I'm sure that there are beach lovers who can relate to this artwork.

It is a painting that every time I look at it, it fills me with the wonder and joy of our beautiful Australian beaches, so I'm sure this work will be enjoyed fully.
