Shearing sheds have a unique atmosphere that tells of the characters of days gone by.
Boogardie shearing shed at Mt Magnet in Western Australia has so many great scenes behind each door. The original shed was built in the mid 1800s from the lovely orange granite rock. Because of drought in the area, the shed hasn't been used for quite a few years. The sheep have been agisted to greener pastures on the WA coast. The timber wall shows some of the shearer's tallies and various different colours of paint used over the years.
The warm colours and detail will draw you in to this painting.
It is an original oil painting on canvas and finished with a protective layer of varnish. The image is painted around the sides of the canvas, so doesn't need a decorative frame. It comes ready to hang on your wall.
