Banana trees and their leaves are a symbol of generosity, abundance, and freedom. In Hindu culture, the tree symbolises that the married life of the couple will be evergreen, and the relationship and love between them will be endless. The banana leaf represents growth and regeneration. I imagined the piece as a quiet study of tropical foliage held against a wash of spontaneous energy. The mood I aimed for is calm and tropical, a memory of a warm, breezy moment.
