From the “Women of the Forest” Series 2018

“Alchemy” is an original ink airbrushed painting on MDF Board in a series of three (Mystery, Magic and Alchemy) which features beautiful women with their spirit protectors.

 “In my childhood and teens, I was not always protected. This made me feel lost, unworthy and often-times ugly. “Mystery”, “Magic ” and “Alchemy” were created to not only show that all women are beautiful no matter their colour or place in life, but also to let you know that we are always protected by animal spirit guides – you just have to pay attention.”

“Alchemy” is an airbrushed painting which took many days and hours to create with ink on MDF Board. Each hair and feather were painted separately with love and intention. Gold signifies the pursuit of spiritual growth and transformation. Blue signifies peace, serenity, and connection to the divine while purple signifies wisdom, spirituality, power and connection to the divine. She is in a dark forest, but it is nothing to fear. Her spirit totem, the kingfisher also represents peace, prosperity and transformation. So kingfisher is helping her spirituality to escape the darkness of the forest (her shadow life) and is leading her to a place of peace and prosperity, assisting in her transformation where she is able to be herself without compromise.

The Women Of The Forest series is currently being exhibited as part of the Creative Hub initiative at the Robina Hospital as part of the International Womens Day Exhibition on the Gold Coast, Australia.
